I am often asked, “How did you get started in the wedding business?”
It began when I was a young girl. My cousin Diane was getting married and I wanted to be her flower girl. Wearing a pretty dress, walking down the aisle, tossing flower petals and eating wedding cake would be wonderful. Sadly, I was too shy to ask and someone else was chosen. Even though I was not in Diane’s wedding I sat at my grandmother’s table during the planning process. All of our family events were planned at grandma’s kitchen table. My ability to plan started because of being in a large family and our love of good food and having fun. As a matter of fact most of the events and weddings I am currently involved with, are planned at my clients kitchen or dining room table.
In 2012 my co-worker Janice met Jimmy. They fell in love and got engaged. Janice and I talked about her March 2013 wedding during lunch breaks. It was fun listening to her ideas and offering advice. She knew I was a Florida notary and asked if I would officiate her ceremony. My answer was “YES”.
Review from Janice
I could guarantee if I didn’t have Robin managing my wedding I probably would not have gotten married. She took the time and filled the gaps that I had in my special day. From going with me on my final dress fitting, to re-confirm someone knew exactly how to do my bustle. She completed my day when I felt things crumble and it turned into one of the best days in my life. She was so calm and collected when speaking to everyone and mediating the points that I couldn’t get across to make my day actually be “my day”. I felt very comfortable and assured leaving things in her hands. She was there by my side from start to finish and made sure to make everything the way I wanted. I highly recommend her for any part of your needs. I am so thankful for having her by my side from start to finish. Please feel free to contact me with any questions I will be glad to praise her more. – Janice Mann
After Janice’s wedding it was clear, officiating and planning more weddings was the right path for me. I decided on a company name, bought business cards, got a business license, insurance and began networking with local vendors and venues.
September 2017 begins my 5th year in business.
